My name is Lynette. I wasn’t always a crazy cat lady. In fact, there was a time when I didn’t have any cats. I got my first cat in college, when a fellow student asked me to watch his for the summer. Then, he never took her back. Years later, when I was about to have my first apartment to myself (no roommates), I got a second cat.
In 2001, I thought I should take advantage of my new building’s lack of limits to adopt a third cat. My friend told me “Lynette, if you get a third cat, you might as well announce to the world that you plan on never marrying again.” I thought about it, and adopted the third cat.
In 2002, I lost two of my three cats. I went to adopt a cat to keep me and my single cat company, and for the first time in my life, I started to realize just how *many* cats lacked homes. It was heart-wrenching to choose only one, but I did. A month later, when I saw one of the “runner-ups” was still at the shelter and had been upgraded to “urgent”, I took home a third. A few months later, a friend asked me if I could find a shelter to take a feral cat in her area if she caught it. He became my fourth cat. It snowballed from there. I started volunteering at a local shelter, initially socializing cats (grooming, working with shy cats, etc.) then later in the clinic medicating cats and preforming other treatments. I eventually went on to serve on their board of directors for three years, and started fostering cats for them and other rescue organizations.
I went from crazy cat lady to FANATICAL crazy cat lady around 2004, when my eyes were opened on the injustice I’d been doing my cats by feeding them dry food. That food was causing the obesity, the diabetes, the kidney disease…. I changed to canned food, and by 2005 I was making much of my own cat food based on the recipes at catnutrition.org and catinfo.org. In 2006, I co-founded “Feline Outreach, Inc.” with two other cat lovers, to provide caregivers with educational and financial assistance.
I consider myself blessed to share my home with these precious animals. They fascinate me in every way – their nutritional needs, their medical needs, their behavior…
I’m author of a column published every other week in the Greeley Citizen (Greeley, Nebraska) – “Chi-Town Chronicles”, tales of a vegetarian-eating cat-loving small-town girl turned big city big-mouth.

I have eard a lot about you and I receive a lot of writings that my sister Fátima send me often that you use to write. I admire your love for anomals, mostly for cats because I am too a very crazy cat lady.

Please remove the initials to HVAH and Dr. P or Dr. G. Again google still leads to your website if you pop in the vet or animal hospital name. I assure you this is slander and defamation and will not be accepted.

The reason you are still seeing my blog in Google results is because information is cached (stored) for search results and takes some time to clear. I have removed the names from the comments you objected to – which is more than I am required to do legally. (If it were illegal to provide reviews on service providers there would be a multitude of websites whose sole purpose is publishing business reviews in trouble.)
However, your comment to this blog may, in fact, cause Google (or other search engine) hits in and of itself.
If you feel comments are slander/defamation you need to take it up with the person that authored these comments.

It has been held, and is firmly established in law, that posters of content to websites are responsible for their speech, NOT the site operators.
You are absolutely right that barring a court order, you are not legally required to touch anyone else’s remarks.
Moreover, this veterinarian (Dr. P) is clearly trying to squelch criticism of him, which in and of itself is suspicious behavior that should cause people to be wary of him and his animal hospital, as well as “Dr. G” whoever the heck that is.
